The international man of Mojo was at it again today. In dire need to waste my paycheck on unnecessary Wally World commodities I passed the old rack of shame, and noticed shiny silver boxes with 50% off stickers as far as the eye could see. A cardboard fiend like myself never passes up two for one deals even when it comes to unpopular wax like Upper Deck X. I picked up a single pack of X when it first came out over A year ago, and I honestly didn't think it was that bad of a product. In my opinion it could have been better, and at 50% off I think it became better. The design in itself is not bad I just think Upper Deck did A terrible job color scheme wise. Player wise I actually liked this product, and one of nicest things about it was the lack of unwanted ( or unknown) rookie cards. Out of the 20 packs I ripped the only two rookie cards I pulled were of Even Langoria, and Kosuke Fukudome. The Xpotential semi embossed foil cards had to be one of the bigger surprises of the box, and one of the more disappointing as well. I'm A huge fan of foil, and when done right it can help bring a card to life. The dull red shading on the x1 did absolutely nothing for me, and the x2 seemed almost identical at times. However the x3 had a really nice futuristic design, and gold always works well with silver foil. The x4 of David Wright was by far the nicest card out of the two boxes, and had A very sharp look to it. I didn't feel cheated out of Upper Deck X, and at 50% off got a lot of bang for the buck. Overall I received 16 semi embossed foil cards, 20 die cuts ( with hanging chads) 60 Base cards, 4 Y.S.L's, and 2 game used jersey pieces all for $21.46. If anyone sees anything they like pictured, or has any needs please email me.
