Well it's 8:42 here on the east coast, and your boy Mojo was itching to spend some of his hard earned cash on some wax. So I took the quick trip to Wally World and picked up two 50% off boxes of 07 Upper Deck series two. I also purchased two boxes of 08 Legendary cuts from Dave & Adams which I will be busting via video tomorrow afternoon. Payday around the Mojo household  starts early Thursday morning, and usually ends Thursday afternoon. The wax must be purchased as early as possible, and before the wife wakes up to avoid any unwanted interruption. I must say the old hand was itching this morning, and from what I pulled from these two boxes it had reason to. Upon busting open box number one I noticed the inside of it was real yellow, and had a stinky old hobby shop smell to it ( a great smell). Three packs into it I pulled the Rocco Baldelli Jersey Card pictured above. Take a close look at the jersey, and tell me what you think is wrong with it? The last time I checked the Ray's colors were Aqua, Black, and White when did they start wearing Orange? Anyhow pack number four yielded the only base card I needed out of the 24 packs card number 839 Andy Pettite. I'm now only 236 cards short of completing this 1020 monster set, and with the B.V most traders are asking for it will be 2025 before I complete it. Upon opening box number two I noticed the inside was not yellow, or stinky which in some strange way kinda bummed me out.  The first 6 packs were quadruples of cards I already have until I got to lucky pack number seven. To my surprise it was a Justin Verlander star signings autographed card Wow! I'm not a big fan of Verlander, but I never would have imagined pulling an auto out of these two boxes. That's what I like so much about Retail V.S Hobby the element of surprise. I also like the clear sticker ( no hologram) Upper Deck used for these autographs it gives it an on card look. After wiping the sweat off my forehead I proceeded to rip the remaining packs, and pulled the Lincy rookie out of pack number eleven. Seven Eleven that's my lucky number Mojo is real.
