Just to let everyone know that I owe cards to from contests, trades, etc. that all cards have been packed, and will be shipped via the Evil Elaine Monday afternoon. Between family, work, and my band I haven't had much time for my beloved Hobby lately. However in the long run I try to make time for it, because I feel it helps tie a majority of my life together, and keeps me out of trouble as well. I have about a four day window before I start to cringe out of control, and by then a trip to Wally World, or a Hobby box usually surfaces making everything all right. Speaking of which I picked up a Hobby box of 2008 Donruss Sports Legends this Friday straight from the Dave and Adams warehouse in Tonawanda. I purchased a single pack with my last order and really liked the contents as well as the card design so I decided to go for the whole enchilada. The autograph list was one of last years best and included Joe Montana, Pete Rose, Jim Brown, Jake Lamotta, and several other legendary Hall of Famers. Like the rest of the 08 Donruss line it was loaded with hits, and in my opinion for a little over $70.00 was the best bang for the buck. Halfway through my first pack I noticed a thick shiny card, and had a feeling that it was something nice. To my surprise it was the long awaited Pete Rose Jersey relic with a red stripe right through the center numbered 250/250. I realize the whole Pete Rose Donnini thing has really been stepped on quite a bit over the last year, but after all it is Pete Frickin Rose, and according to this card Donruss must still have an M.L.B licence. I picked this box up in hopes of pulling something different, and the next nine packs would not be a disappointment. Is it me or is Jeanette Lee the hottest babe to ever break a rack of balls? I don't hang in pool bars much anymore, but the ladies that I remembered playing required a hefty dose of Tequila to appreciate. I don't see that being the case with the Black Widow, and not only is she very attractive her game is very very good. I really like her autograph as well, and the heart over the "J" really gives this autograph a personal touch. The Cat Osterman auto I pulled out of pack number five has to be the sexiest scribble I have ever laid my eyes on. I think Cat takes the term " junk in the trunk" to another level, and her autographed card was my favorite out of the entire box. My final hit was a jersey relic of N.B.A Hall Of Famer, and Baltimore/Capitol/ Washington Bullets star Wes Unsled. Wes was the R.O.Y/ M.V.P in 1969, and a five time All-Star for those of you that have never heard of the man ( thank god for Google). I also pulled a few paralleled cards including a Jim Brown mirror red # 250/250,Buster Posey numbered to 316/1000 (why?), a Lenny Moore Museum Collection 14/50, and an Al Unser mirror blue # 4/100. Overall all I had a blast ripping 08 Donruss Sports legends, and although I didn't pull the Joe Montana auto I badly wanted I pulled two of the hottest babes around in less then six minutes ( not bad for an old married guy). If you see anything you like pictured above please feel free to email me.
